Hello!

I feel so bloated every day, sometimes sick if I don't eat. I only came off pill around 3 weeks ago, so I am expecting my period Monday. I have taken a couple of tests as I feel sooo tired, need a wee more, feel so bloated, however both of them are a flat out no with no faint lines at all?

I'm expecting my period Monday as that will be 4 weeks since I stopped taking my pill, but I'm confused if that's right since coming off mini pill? Or am I due to expect it later?

Does it sound like I am pregnant or am I just hoping I am 😂

Thanks
Emma

Much more likely your body is adjusting to not being pumped full of artificial hormones.

I was told that I shouldn't count on getting pregnant up to a year after stopping the pill because it takes your body so much time to go back to normal.

You won't really have any idea of your cycle until you have had a couple of periods and know what is going on, I would relax and see what happens when it has stabilised after coming off the pill.

emmaalouise90 · 26/10/2022 21:25

Yes I did wonder if it's due to coming off my pill- the first two weeks was hell, I felt so hormonal and down, feel better now though thank god but now feel bloated and sluggish!
Thank you xx

I've felt pregnant countless times but only been pregnant once in about 15 years of trying. Try to relax

emmaalouise90 · 26/10/2022 21:26

Yes I did plan on doing that just wait until a couple of periods come etc and go from there as I have no idea really when it's going to go back to normal - I do now actually think this is just my body adjusting maybe! Xx

Oh really I'm so sorry 😞 it's that feeling every month of hoping isn't it, I think I'm looking for every symptom and hoping it's that! I do need to relax more and not think about it xx

@emmaalouise90 I was on Cerezette for 10 years and had no periods.
my first one came back a little later than I remembered my cycle then month 2 I was bang on.
Month three I fell pregnant the first time we didn’t use the pull out method.
We’re thrilled about it but very unexpected.
It definitely varies from person to person.
I have one cousin who got pregnant a month after coming off and one who took much longer.
I think @teaandtoastwithmarmite nailed it.
Definitely happened to us relaxed and unexpected.

@emmaalouise90 it is possible, I know people who have got pregnant immediately after coming off the pill. It’s so unfair isn’t it that pregnancy signs are so similar to getting your period and hormones adjusting. I was convinced I was a couple of weeks ago with all the signs but I wasn’t in the end. Don’t give up hope and if it didn't happen this cycle I hope it works out for you soon

Thanks ladies! I know I feel like I'm going to be so disappointed when I come on my period. I hope I do start having periods again! I'm sure it will happen anyway at some point it's very early days but I'm just very impatient and excited! Xxx

In my experience and from what I know from others, there's no such thing as feeling pregnant before the positive test. It s just our mind playing tricks and putting a meaning on every single thing. Take care. Fingers crossed.

raffika · 27/10/2022 09:35

I felt exactly like that after coming off the progesterone pill, and like you I hoped the symptoms were a very quick pregnancy, but they weren’t. I know it’s so hard to be patient though 🙂

emmaalouise90 · 27/10/2022 09:36

I know! I just feel weird! But I do think it's cos of coming off my pill. Il try be patient.

With my second, I wasn’t feeling well so took a test which was negative, got a positive a couple of weeks later when I’d thought it really couldn’t be anything else so it is a possibility that you’ve just tested too early, I don’t think I’d been off the pill for very long either.

emmaalouise90 · 27/10/2022 12:30

Oh really! That's so good to know! Thank you. I'm not going to get my hopes up, this morning and now I have some pinkish discharge whatever that is? I just think il wait another 2 weeks and if no period il do another test x

@emmaalouise90 I really hope you are pregnant but just as an FYI that’s what I got when I got my first period back after being on the pill for a long time.
my first one was 5 days later than my regular cycle from before.

emmaalouise90 · 27/10/2022 14:28

Really! Yes I have some pink discharge, boobs ache, bloating! All signs of a period or pregnancy lol! Il write on here when my period comes .... or if it doesn't xx

..... it was my period! Awful stomach pains today & some blood! So it's the start of my period! God it's annoying how similar the symptoms can be! Fingers crossed will happen soon 🤞🏼🧡
