Hcg 28, is it too low for a viabile pregnancy?

Hi.

I had my last period along with a chemical at the beginning of the month. My ovulation at 15/16. Had a positive test Monday and yesterday. And the blood tests today came at 28.

In your experience, is there any chance things could be ok?

Thank you.

A single reading of HCG doesn't mean anything, OP. Another person might have a higher level of HCG at this stage, another night have a lower level. All that reading tells you is that you were pregnant at the time of the test.
What matters is that the HCG doubles roughly every 48 hours. Most people therefore have a second HCG test done 2 days after the first

@Batbatbatty yes, I will take another one on Friday. I was just thinking the level now was so low...

Thanks a lot for the support 🙏

I’m really sorry for your previous loss. But I second what previous poster said, you can’t interpret anything without two tests as everyone has different levels of hcg. From what you’ve said I think you’re about 4 weeks? If so anything from 5 hcg can be normal www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/ask-heidi/hcg-levels.aspx

All the best for this pregnancy.

Thank you for replying. 🤗 I can't help to feel anxious. But I will repeat the test tomorrow.

Sorry for your precious loss OP.. hope things will work out better for you this time.. As others have mentioned, one single reading doesnt give any info... for a pregnancy to be viable, the HCG levels should double every 2-3 days.. so you could compare this reading with the next to assess how it is progressing..

B1993 · 28/10/2022 08:45

OP, I think that's a normal reading for early on in pregnancy. Here's a chart with 'normal' hCG ranges. As you can see, the range is enormous!!

But, as the other ladies said, the reading itself is irrelevant and what you need to monitor is that it's doubling after roughly 48 hours.

I also wanted to say sorry for your past loss 💔

The results came. It's 37 :( . Not even close to doubling... so I guess that's pretty much it...

Thank you all for the support.

OP, I'm sorry 💔💔

Tryingagain01 · 28/10/2022 18:49

@B1993 thank you. 🤗

The GP said I should repeat the test on Monday.

Any similar experiences anyone?

How did your repeat test go OP?

Tryingagain01 · 03/11/2022 08:37

@Hrf1503 , it increased, but very little.
