CVS and Amniocentesis

This might be a stupid question but has anyone had both tests done on the same pregnancy? I have become so anxious about my pregnancy and been reading that CVS can be done earlier but Amnio looks at different things so I wanted to see if doing both are options. Thank you

Have you done the NIPT test? Your Dr should advise you on the best method of further testing if this detected a high risk. From what I understand, an amino can detect everything the CVS can plus more. I am unsure why you would have both?

It isn’t really clear from your post that you are at high risk though. I would say if you are struggling with anxiety then testing more might not give you the reassurance that you need. These tests are also not risk free. You would always find something more to worry about. I would instead advise finding a way to manage your anxiety. Speak with your Dr or midwife and they should be able to refer you to someone.

Hi everyone,
It's my first post and I hope you guys don't mind me jumping on.
I have received CVS results today confirming Trisomy 21. This has come as huge shock to me as my blood levels were all OK, the NT measurement was elevated but at the cut off at 3.5mm. I'm 38 and have had 2 health pregnancies and births, most recently 2020. So I'm not much older. Has anyone questioned the results of a positive CVS and decided to go privately for a second opinion just in case it was wrong? We are heartbroken. Any help is so greatly appreciated. Xx
