Placenta Accreta

Hello all,

I have a scan a week today called a placenta localisation scan. It has been ordered for me because they can’t tell if my placenta is attached to my previous c section scar. I’ve tried my hardest not to read the horror stories since my last appointment 2 weeks ago. But I stupidly couldn’t keep off the old Google any longer and now at 25 weeks am absolutely terrified!

just wondered if anyone has had this before, what’s the outcome even if not good news. Am I worrying for nothing and it’s just very rare?

my first pregnancy was emerg c section to my DD who is now 21 months. I have low papp A of 0.24 and they said it’s low lying (these things I can handle) but if it’s attached I’m petrified of the outcome from what I’ve read for me or the baby.

sorry for the long panic post x

Hi I had this and placenta privia was in hospital from 19 wks til I had my baby thankfully managed to carry til 37 wks unfortunately I ended up having to have a hysterectomy during my c section as my placenta had attached to my womb the care I got was outstanding, it was very difficult after I ended up with ptsd but whilst in hospital i also made a friend who had the same as me and had a smooth c section and even went on to have another baby

I’m also 25 weeks and have been told I very likely have placenta accreta and low lying placenta. Have an MRI scan booked in two weeks time to assess. There are some Facebook groups if you search which have ladies how have been through the same thing. I’m trying to hold off doing too much research until I know the exact situation but have been told it’s very likely I’ll need a hysterectomy at the same time as the cession due to high risk.
