Hi,
I know this is a frequently discussed subject, and I have read a lot about clear blues issues with prominent evaporation lines, but here goes.
I am not actively trying to conceive but recently had a slip-up with my contraception, my partner and I have spoken about the possibility of a baby and are both happy about the idea.
For the last week, I have experienced extreme nausea, frequent urination, tiredness and a stuffy nose (not like a cold). I took a clear blue first response test at 3am as I woke up desperate for a wee, I dosed off while waiting for it to develop, and woke up around 20mins later to a positive line. I have since done other branded tests and come up negative.
I would be inclined to believe the negative tests if it wasn't for all the symptoms I am feeling, what's people's experience?
I feel I should have seen a positive line by now considering all the symptoms - I had a pregnancy in the past which I terminated and I was about 6 weeks by the time I felt sickness etc.
Any thoughts and experiences would be much appreciated.

how long did you hold your pee for on the subsequent tests? They say 4 hours minimum is best.

The Clearblue are definitely positives.

The first CB was at 3am, the second at around 9am, I then had my 3rd wee (to do the early response pink test) at about 11am - I had read about evap lines with clear blue so decided to try a pink dye test, but this one was totally negative. Would I still be showing negative despite all the symptoms though, surely if im experiencing those the hcg should be high enough to show up?

I would get the clear blue digital test or first response test (pink dye and is very sensitive) just to be sure. If you had just showed me the clear blue ones alone I’d say positive. However, I’ve tested and had a blue line with clear blue because I left it too long before reading it (wasn’t pregnant)- so I’d discount the one you left too long.

I hope you get the result you want, op. Let us know how it goes x

LittlLizard · 25/10/2022 12:59

@drkpl I have a digital one but was reluctant to take it yet as they never tend to be as sensitive, I have ordered some first response so will see how that goes!
Thank you for your response x

I was always told that a line is a line... evap lines are possible but I don't think they would be that prominent personally... I think congratulations are in order :)

Mydoggosarethebest · 25/10/2022 13:15

I would say positive! How many dpo are you do you know?

LittlLizard · 25/10/2022 13:19

@Mydoggosarethebest I have no idea unfortunately, I recently came off the pill due to it making me a lil crazy! and I've still not got back to having regular periods, it's made this whole thing really frustrating as I would usually rely on a late AF to tell!

Don’t read it after the time it says on the instructions. Do another test 🙂

Bryterlayter1 · 25/10/2022 13:27

Hi Op, I've had issues with evap lines and CB, I wouldn't trust anything that doesn't come up within 10 mins. Best to test again with a FRER and look at the results within the time frame.

LittlLizard · 25/10/2022 13:46

@Bryterlayter1 I have read that alot of people have the same experience with CB. I have ordered some FR the're arriving tomorrow so will retest then.
Just wish I wasn't experiencing so many symptoms and still getting a negative test!

I don't think that you would get evaps on all 3 tests.

It looks like you are pregnant. Congratulations :)
