Hi everyone I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby also rainbow baby I has a MC at 6 weeks in may. I have an anterior placenta so I know that cushions the baby's movements but I get so worried sometimes I feel him on and off all day sometimes nothing sometimes it's just a couple jabs here and there either morning or afternoon is this normal? I'm just looking for past experiences I guess for a bit of reassurance I was told by MW that often first baby's plus anterior placentas it could be later but i still can't help but worry.

Hi, I am 23 weeks atm too.. regarding the location of placenta, I am afraid I can't relate to your experience, as mine is on the posterior part. But regarding baby movements, I think it's pretty normal at 23 weeks to not yet have an established pattern.. my baby is most active after 10pm and till 7am in the morning.. after that, it's just occasional kicks and jabs, usually only after I eat.. as I am deep sleeper, I usually don't get to experience the late night movements too..

23 weeks is still too early to start counting the kicks as midwives usually recommend doing it after 28 weeks.

BUT STILL, if you are concerned/worried about the baby movements, you could ask for a fetal heart Doppler and regular AN check up, as that's all they would do until 26 weeks.

All the best for rest of your pregnancy😇

I only had my scan 2 weeks ago everything was perfect so I think I'm just worrying like I say I can feel him it's just very occasional I've got my 24 week appointment next week so I'll mention to her as well.
All the best to you to Xxx

Hi! I am pregnant with my third and I also have an anterior placenta this time, both my other pregnancies I had posterior and honestly the difference is crazy! I was a bit sad really as I can't feel much, I'm almost 25 weeks and can only feel things quite low down and to the sides sometimes. You'll probably feel a lot more as the baby gets bigger I'm guessing I'll be kind of thankful for the anterior placenta this time haha as it was quite painful in my last pregnancies when baby was pushing outwards.

Try not to worry too much but always speak to your midwife or pregnancy unit if you have any questions I know I definitely will if I ever start to worry x

I'm currently 33 weeks with an anterior placenta and mine was exactly the same around 23/24 weeks - some days I'd feel quite a lot of movement, and other days not so much. As the weeks went on I started to feel him move more and more, and I've had a regular pattern since about 28 weeks so I wouldn't worry too much but definitely mention it to your MW at your next appointment for peace of mind.

I’m 23 weeks as of yesterday with first baby, and feel the exact same @yvonneb13. It’s hard to know what to expect when it’s the first time it’s happened. She seems to kick loads on a Thursday for some reason and then other days hardly feel anything. Everything says that you have a pattern by 24 weeks so it would seem that there should be some regularity by 23. I’m so anxious about it all 😞. Spoke to one of the local midwives this afternoon and she said that it’s a bit of a grey area at this stage until 26 weeks but said to call the local hospital (if out of hours) if I’m worried.
