Has night nurse's given false positive?

Hello, need help making sense of all this so hoping fellow MN's can help!

Been ttc and did the baby dance 16 days ago. Had one day of light spotting 3 days ago and then nothing, so took a test and got a bfp - great I hear you say... Now this is where it gets tricky...

I've been poorly with a bad cold, so the night before the test (Thursday) I took some night nurse. A few hours after getting the positive test (Friday morning) I read theres a drug in there that can interfere with pregnancy tests and can also take up to 72 hours to fully leave your system!! So far I've taken another three, all with a really obvious positive. Today I've had some light spotting and cramping but a few days late now.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar?? might i be having a night nurse baby or is this the real deal?!?

I know I won't really know for sure until the 72 hours has passed but if anyone out there has had something similar happen, give a girl some hope 🤣

I've not heard of that. I'd say it's more likely you're pregnant as you're 3 days late. Spotting and mild cramping can be normal. I had on/off spotting with my third and fourth pregnancies and mild cramping. It felt like I was coming on my period but I never did.

Sorry don't know where I got 3 days late from, but if you're late all the same, you're probably pregnant.

Thank you @cookiecreammmpie I'm feeling really anxious and super annoyed with myself. I've had a previous ectopic so conscious of every twinge! ❤️

Nothing will give you a bfp except pregnancy hormones. Sounds like you are pregnant!

I'm not sure night nurse can put HCG in your urine so I'd say you're pregnant! Congratulations 🥳

Adding to this really old thread incase someone comes across it like I did! Night nurse can definitely give you a false positive - happened to me and does say it on the leaflet with the medicine. I had about an hour of being super excited before I found this out and luckily hadn't told my partner yet...!

Im also going to add to this….i had a positive pregnancy test, had bloods done ant my GP and negative.

i had taken night nurse the night before, not realising it can cause false positives! Be super careful girls. It says on the leaflet too, so that’s my lesson learnt.

big hugs to anyone that’s had the same issue❤️
