Sweep at 38 weeks success stories

Has anyone had a sweep at 38 weeks that worked? If you did, can you tell me what happened please?

Bit of background: I have low Papp-a so am being induced at 39 weeks so asked my midwife if she would give me a sweep at 38 weeks (tomorrow) to see if there is a chance of me going naturally before hand.

I am 1cm dilated as I had a cervical stitch removed 2 weeks ago tomorrow but no sign of anything! Thanks! xx

I just got sweep done at 38+5. How did you get on? I'll update as soon as I know something. This is my third baby and she's exceptionally mobile so I requested to stay in hospital and be induced so that baby doesn't go transverse or something during labour, I also live quite far away from the nearest hospital. The midwife said it was an easy sweep and that baby's head was down, I've been contracting for weeks on and off so hopefully it will work.

I had a sweep with DC3 at 4pm and had given birth by 10pm. She did say it was going to be a good one 😄

Sadly I had lots of sweeps with DC2 and she was nearly 2 weeks late so I’m not sure if the third one was just luck! Worth a try though

Forgot to say it was at 38 weeks exactly!

Update: the sweep didn't work, baby is still cooking 😬

With DC2 I went 4 days overdue and I was offered a sweep late in the evening. She was born at 5am.

Sweep has worked twice for me. Both times I had the baby within hours. Second time I went from 2cm to delivery in 2 hours after the sweep. It was pretty painful though and midwife said she's known for how quickly her sweeps work. She was pretty rough! . These were both around due date though. At the moment I have a low-lying placenta. If it moves and baby turns they're planning a 38 week sweep.
