No bump measurements at midwife apps

I had growth scans at 30 and 34 weeks, and I'm booked for another at 38 weeks. Midwife hasn't been measuring my bump at my apps with her, I've just had my 36 week app and she said there's no point. Is this normal? I can understand them not measuring at the apps that fall on the same week as the scan but surely they should be measuring in between? By the time I have my next scan there will jave been 4 weeks with no monitoring of growth, and his growth fell from 99th to 49th percentile between the scans at 30 and 34 weeks

Bump measuring is notoriously inaccurate, and pointless if you are having growth scans as there are far more accurate. If the bump measurement showed inconsistent growth they’d just send you for a growth scan. So I think your midwife is correct.

If you're already having growth scans then they are the 'next step' from bump measuring so it's been superseded, really.

No measurements if having growth scans.

I've never had my bump measured and I had growth scans every fortnight from 13 weeks on.

Also, even growth scans are inaccurate. DD was 2-3 pounds heavier than estimated.

Thanks all, replies have put my mind at ease. I just wanted to check that it was standard practice really. Thank you ❤️
