Hi,
I am 15 weeks and due to have my first midwife apt (not booking in that has been done) 27th October.
During my scan they said I needed to take aspirin as due to blood flow to umbilical cord I am high risk for preeclampsia. I spoke with my new doctor about this last week and all seemed fine he said midwife may book me for extra tests. I still haven’t had any blood work back as I’m assuming this will all be given in my next midwife apt.

Today I had a call from the Early Pregnancy unit saying my doctors had referred me?!
They said they were no notes and asked if I was bleeding/having any issues. I told them no and they said to check with Doctors. Having spoken to the doctors they quite frankly don’t have a clue why I have been referred and there are no notes they said they would let me know tomorrow.

does being referred to the early pregnancy unit with no major concerns sound right? If not do I have a right to be concerned as to why I’m getting calls which as worried my thinking maybe something is wrong with bloods or something I don’t know about?

just stressed not having answers really I always thought doctors made notes on files and let you know if they are going to refer you!

sorry to moan but been a day of worry and probably over nothing x

Sounds like a mix up - can you contact your midwife directly and see why they have referred you?

Normally the early pregnancy unit are very helpful / supportive I am sure if you ring them back and tell them your worries/anxieties they will look into it further and get some clarity.

I think it is likely a mix up but still no news from Doctors they said they will let me know tomorrow. It’s strange a simple answer should take 2 days. Called EPU they said they can’t help as no idea why referred. I understand mistakes can happen but I would think there would be notes on my file or it wouldn’t take 2 days to get an answer. Thanks for your replies it’s something I’ll take up with the doctors tomorrow

I think if something was wrong with your bloods it wouldn't be EPU phoning you but either your doctors (if they can access your maternity notes) or a midwife. Sounds like a cock up from doctors end.
