Braxton hicks?

Hiya. Yesterday afternoon around 13:00 I started getting some mildly painful cramps they seemed to come and go and went away for a while until around 16:00 where they came back a lot stronger. Like taking my breath away stronger and my bump would go rock hard. They seemed to be more frequent and persistant. I called my local maternity assessment unit where they said to take some paracetamol and see if they subside which they did. But I've woken up feeling like I've been hit by a car. My baby was also more active than normal yesterday. Absolutely nonstop all day.
I'm 36 weeks and 3 days. Has anyone else had this. And is it a sign of early labour or am I good to think I've still got around 4 weeks to go?

Any change in movement needs to be checked out. Please go in to be seen

I had 7 hours of on and off braxton hicks when I was around 37 weeks pregnant and nothing happened. I was induced for medical reasons at 40+1.

I also had them weeks earlier and after that but not for that long. I don’t think it’s related at all with starting labour.

if the baby won’t stop kicking check with the midwife or 111.
