Bleeding at 9 weeks pregnant

Hello ladies

Today I went for urgent care to hospital coz I'm bleeding alot and have cramping on and off. I am 9 weeks. The doctor who saw me said If I'm soaking the whole pad 3 to 4 times in a day then I should come back to hospital. I did a urine test at the hospital and it's positive. She has booked me for ultrasound scan which is after 4 days. Until then I might still bleed. I'm really panicking. I can't control my emotions. I thought there is less chance of miscarriage at 9 weeks. Has anyone else been through this?

I'm really sorry to hear what you're going through. I've had a missed miscarriage and wouldn't be able to wait 4 days for a scan. I hate that the nhs make you wait that long. if you can afford it you might wish to look for a private scan sooner at somewhere like window to the womb.

it is definitely possible that everything is OK ' I had a haematoma in my 2nd pregnancy that caused light bleeding but I do remember painful cramps from my first when unfortunately it was bad news when I had a scan - I didn't bleed until a week after the scan - about 9 weeks.

unfortunately a positive pregnancy test doesn't guarantee anything as the hormones can stay in your system for several weeks after a miscarriage. mine were still showing positive last 9 weeks even though the scan revealed it hadn't lived past 5 weeks.

sadly I think you might need to prepare yourself for bad news. I found the hospitals very clinical in how they treat women who are miscarrying. you'll get told really unhelpful things like 'at least you could get pregnant, you can try again and it's so common it happens to 1 in 3 women buy you'll have to block out those sentiments and take all the time you need to grieve.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I can't sleep properly. I'm still thinking about it. The doctor said it could be your cervix is open a little bit and it should be closed when pregnant. She wanted to check using a speculum but I was too afraid to let her try. I was wondering does it have to be painful with bad cramping all the time if your about to miscarry?

Hi I am currently almost 6 weeks pregnant I started off last week Monday with brown discharge and now this morning I have woken up and I wiped myself the blood is a lot heavier and slightly more red. Has anyone had this before? And what has the outcome been for you?

That's how it started off for me too. I had a little bit of Brown discharge. Then following day started bleeding. It's the 3rd day for me now. It's looking like a period. I've had no bleeding whatsoever since I've conceived. But at 9 weeks I bled. I wish it stops ASAP. Not liking it. Feel low.

I have a scan booked for this Wednesday it’s like a period now. Hoping everything is okay😭doesn’t seem like it will be

Cheer up. Hopefully it won't be nothing to worry about. I heard many women do bleed while pregnant and still have healthy baby.
I'm giving you hope but I am stressed myself.
My scan Is booked for this Thursday. I cannot wait for it.

@Kuljeet96 i really hope my story isn’t the same as you but I started having a day with brown discharge and then nothing for a week and 10 days ago I started having bright red light bleeding. I had a scan which showed a 6 week baby with no heartbeat. I feel I should of been 7-8 weeks. I continued to bleed with no cramps and on Friday there it got heavier. On Sunday I passed the tissue of my baby. I was really convinced it was just my cervix being irritated being on progesterone pessaries. The brown discharge must of been the pregnancy failing. I’ve been bleeding 10 days now and only had an hour of cramps yesterday this is my second miscarriage in 3 months. I hope you have a positive outcome. Fingers crossed.
