Suspected early miscarriage (IVF) - help xxx

I had an embryo transfer 20/09, positive pregnancy test 01/10. On Saturday, 08/10, I had severe pains and an hours worth of heavy bleeding with clots. The bleeding trailed off to spotting on Sunday and nothing since. The cramping is still there but not as bad. Did a test this morning and still shows positive. My clinic won’t scan until 25/10. I’m certain I lost it but does it sound that way to others? Thanks in advance xxx

It does sound like a miscarriage, I had the same after cramps and bleeding. I was told you can still get a positive test for a few weeks after. Can you go for a private scan?

Sorry to hear that you've gone through this. I don't think a scan would show anything this early. You could do 2 blood tests 48 hours apart to check if the hcg is doubling. You can get these done privately.

i have no idea why it didn’t occur to me to look privately, I just presumed the clinic would have offered the blood test and when they didn’t just went with what they said!
I will look to book somewhere now.
There’s been a lot of waiting and patience involved so far but this is now driving me mad 😣 and all feels very tainted xxx

@Cez10 I can imagine it's a horrible time for you. You can go for private scans from 6 weeks, then they will probably refer you to the early pregnancy assessment unit if you are measuring behind or they can't see what they expect to. Wishing you all the best x
