Nesting, is this a real thing?!

I'm only 23 weeks pregnant but this past week I've cleaned and rearranged my whole house for no reason!

Is nesting a myth? Surely it's too early to start at 23 weeks? Makes me panic that I'll go into labour too early 😭

I don’t know if it’s real or not but I’m certainly feeling cleany and organisey 😂 currently having a break from cleaning the kitchen

Definitely! I was scrubbing my skirting board grooves with a toothbrushe until I went into labour

I'm 26 weeks and it's definitely set in here. I've cleaned and organised things that haven't been touched for years. Also the decorating of some rooms in the house has sped up considerably!

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and definitely was more into nesting around 24 weeks or so!

It's absolutely a real thing. It's you wanting to prepare your environment for your new baby. Getting things sorted so you have everything set and not to worry about once baby is here. Enjoy it :) And congratulations on your pregnancy!

Definitely. At about 8 months pregnant I carted two massive storage boxes on to a bus to sort out the crap in my house. The looks I got 🤣

I'm 22 weeks and I'm already feeling it. We've lived out of boxes my entire pregnancy while waiting for the keys to our house. We got the keys on Monday and I've not stopped freaking out over the fact there's so much to do... I just want to get furniture in and new carpets down... it's definitely made more intense by the looming baba!

Definitely it's nesting... I am 22 weeks today and since a week, I have been decluttering my house like mad 😂 and also started shopping baby clothes! Some people may say it's too early but I do what feels good for me atm ☺️ enjoy the feeling and get some actual work done while you still have the energy boost of the second trimester ! Third trimester may not grant you with so much of energy ( I am already struggling to role over in the bed 😧) !

Yes. For me it was absolutely horrible, and a bit like what I imagine OCD is like. For a few weeks before each DC was born I became hyper-aware of all sorts of risks and dangers that might affect a baby and felt panicky until I'd sorted them out. At one point I knocked a hole in a dodgy part of the ceiling through vigorous dusting.
