Hi, so I'm probably clutching at straws here but I went for my gtt test this morning, got there at about 9.10 she took 2 or 3 attempts to get my blood I think probably about 9.17, I drank the drink and was sat down by 9.19.
She called me through at 11.06 to have my second blood test and got it first time this time. I got the call to say that I had GD, the cut off being 7.8 and my results were 8 exactly.
Do you think those 10 minutes could have made the difference between 'passing' and 'failing' or am I just being stupid and need to just suck it up.

Having been diagnosed with it myself - it may have made. Difference who knows.

but my results have got worse during pregnancy as my placenta has got bigger so probably better for you knowing about this now and dealing with it

As someone who has had GD 3 times now, the cut off is 7.8 after an hour. Seeing as you drank the drink at around 9:15 and the blood test just under 2 hours showed a reading of 8, I'd say those 10 mins don't count as by 2 hours later your blood should be down to at most 6.4 if I remember rightly. (<7.8 after an hour, <6.4 after 2)

Thanks so much for your replies. I also had GD in one of my previous pregnancies and have never had Mt blood tested at 1 hour, it was always done at 2. The person who drew my blood and subsequently rang me with the news told me the cut off was 7.8 so I was just going on what she said. Having had a quick Google it seems at 1 hour the cut off is closer to 10.
Regardless I will ask my midwife and see what she says but will just have to get on with it I guess, I was just feeling a little down and wanted to get others perspectives.
Thanks again
