I recently had a scan at 4 weeks 6 days due to doctors thinking I was experiencing an ectopic pregnancy. luckily things are fine. However on my scan I think it looks like there's two babies, they've only picked up one. What do you all think?

Is it twins?!

Absolutely no professional expertise to offer but my twins were very obviously twins.

I can only see one sac in the uterus

I think I can see one to the left of what they have measured

it looks like one to me but then I'm not a professional..

Pregnantpolly · 13/10/2022 13:12

Looks like one.

I can see another black shadowy area that looks similar to the sac but it's not in the uterus (the area around the sac that is pear shaped) so it must be something else. I don't know enough about radiography or anatomy to tell you what it is, but nothing to worry about....

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 13/10/2022 21:54

I think it might be a follicle on your ovary but I could be very wrong!

OtiMama · 13/10/2022 22:29

I really feel if they only picked up one it's probably one. Not saying they never get it wrong but if it was that obvious to a non professional I would wonder how they could miss it!

Jaaxe · 13/10/2022 23:18

I see just one. Did they see a yolk sac too or just a gestational sac at your gestation?

Opihr · 13/10/2022 23:27

I have twins and it was immediately obvious to the sonographer that there were two. She told us within about 5 seconds.

I don't think I can see 2 in that pic.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 14/10/2022 12:48

I see only one.

@Jaaxe just the sac space and a teeny bit of the start of something else (yolk or pole) for me at 5+ something. I have since had an 8+4 scan which showed fetus, heartbeat, yolk, umbilical and placenta

No yolk at this stage so have to go back

@hazelemily it could be a cyst? In my last pregnancy I panicked as straight away throught there was two sacks, but it was a cyst on my ovary and then the baby sac xx

SleepingStandingUp · 14/10/2022 19:14

Can you draw around the two babies you see op?

My 6 week scan said one, two second lump was something else apparently (maybe the yolk sac) and turned into twins at my 12 weeks 😳 but I don't see anything like that on yours

bloodyeverlastinghell · 14/10/2022 19:16

They were very clear I was having twins at my 9 week scan. Identical so they share a placenta but had their own space

BattenburgDonkey · 14/10/2022 19:18

Looks like 1 not 2. If you Google 4 week 6 day twin scan you can see lots of pics of twin scans and it shows how obvious twins is.

wherearebeefandonioncrisps · 15/10/2022 20:26

Just one.
