Are there any other ladies on here that are not working/off sick due to illness/their pregnancy?

I'm feeling awful about it 😔 nearly 20 weeks, hopefully I'm not alone x

@allthingssparkly hey, so I'm coming up to 18 weeks. I had 3 days off 2 weeks ago. Woke up with an awful headache in the middle of the night last night ( plus full of cold) but made it in today. Finished early though. My manager has been really supportive and told me to take any time off I need but still don't want to. Have u had much time off? X

I’ve been feeling the same. I’ve been signed off for the last 3 weeks as I just couldn’t cope at work. I’ve been so nauseous all the time, dizzy and not sleeping for more than few hours a night, all since finding out pregnant . Forced myself first few weeks but was in tears at home so went to gp and signed off since. Spend most days lying down and trying not to think about being sick! I didn’t know I’d feel like this but seems everyone finds pregnancy differently and some affected more/less. How much time off have you had?

Upto now I have had 10 days off, all of last week, 2 days the week before last and then this week so far too 😔 I've had some sort of infection which has played havoc with my asthma, last Wednesday the GP put me on antibiotics and steroids which I'll have finished by tomorrow but I went back to the doctors yesterday as I still have a productive cough and not feeling much different to last week. I've now been prescribed a steroid nasal spray to help with all the mucus build up. I have also had bouts of feeling lightheaded/dizzy since yesterday. I just want to feel right.

I only get paid when I work, as I work through an agency so the whole thing is just dragging me down 😔

I was signed of at 21 weeks after 2 weeks. Saved my babies (twins) lives so no I didn't give a duck about work.

I took three months off last time with hyperemesis

AriettyHomily · 12/10/2022 18:55

And I can swear, my phone doesn't like to 😂

calimc83 · 13/10/2022 12:07

@allthingssparkly oh that's rubbish! Do they not pay sick pay at all? Failing that could u find something through the agency that's a WFH role? X

allthingssparkly · 13/10/2022 14:11

I may be able to get SSP @calimc83 I have emailed my form to them last night so will see what they come back with.

They can't offer me a WFH role as all are based within schools 😩

I've had bloods done at the doctors today, they said they will call me next week if they spot anything untoward so it's just a waiting game.

I'm 13+1 and taken the last 3-4 weeks (gone in for a couple of hours here and there but ended up going home). Can't actually seem to function or do anything, sickness is so bad and the tiredness and the headaches are horrific. It's really debilitating and depressing now! X

Marie222222 · 31/10/2022 22:25

I’m currently 24+2 and have had a catalog of problems since the beginning bleeding, hypermesis and insomnia. Now I’ve got PGP. I’ve had maybe two weeks off in total and my GP has signed me off for two weeks due to stress/high blood pressure. I had been putting going to the docs off as I work in a busy care home and hate calling in sick. I had a meeting with my manager today which didn’t go as well as I thought, I came away feeling very deflated and downhearted. I could be overthinking things but feel terrible guilt and feel she thinks I’m taking the mick now. Anyone else feel this way? It’s horrible. I’ve done nothing but cry to my OH since coming home.
