Period cramps in early pregnancy

Last month I had a chemical pregnancy with my first pregnancy and had a lot of period type cramps leading upto it. This month i am pregnant again and have cramps (albeit milder than last month) and I'm nearly 5 weeks so i've managed to go slightly further with this pregnancy so far. Has anyone else experienced period type cramps and had a healthy pregnancy? Just afraid to settle incase it's another chemical pregnancy.

From my experience, I had a lot of period like cramps in early pregnancy (from 3 weeks to almost 6 weeks) in both of my pregnancies. First pregnancy is now my 3 year old, and I'm currently 7 weeks with the second. I think period cramps are normal in early pregnancy and in any time throughout also.

I’m 4 weeks today and have mild cramps, so reading this has made me slightly less anxious 😊

I had cramps for weeks in early pregnancy, I remember being surprised by how painful they were. The result is 11 months old now Smile best of luck to you Flowers

Thanks that's made me feel a lot better. They tend to come and go . I actually thought i had none today then had a few when i had to go to the bathroom and they're coming and going and I keep checking for blood every time I go to the bathroom. Going to try and get a 6 week scan just to ensure everything in working order. Thanks for your replies. Very very wanted baby so hoping and praying for the best!

I experienced period like cramps in my pregnancy with my daughter and also my current one (22 weeks). I fell pregnant with my daughter the month after a chemical so know how terrifying it is, fingers crossed for you 🤞.

Yes I definitely did from around 4 weeks until around 8 weeks maybe? I believe it’s just the uterus stretching, I wouldn’t worry unless you see bleeding

Just to add to the reassurance, I had pretty bad cramps the first few weeks, worse than my period cramps. Was convinced something was wrong but I'm now 32 weeks into a healthy pregnancy.

I haven't had a chemical pregnancy but understand the worry, I was checking for blood every single time I went to the toilet for the first few months.

Just because sometimes people don't follow up, just wanted to let you know we went for an early reassurance scan and all looking good with baby! Still get occasional cramps (7.5 weeks at this stage) but they've definitely settled so so far so good!
