Gender at 14 weeks

Hi everyone, so we booked a scan at 14 weeks because I'd been having some cramping and was getting worried about it and everything turned out to be completely fine but the sonographer asked if we was finding out the gender which we are and asked if we wanted to know what she thought so we said yes and she told us she thinks baby looks like a boy, we're happy as long as we've got a healthy baby but I didn't think they could tell gender this early? Has anyone else been told gender at 14 weeks and if so was it right? TIA

I was told likely girl at 13 weeks by a private scan, confirmed girl at 15 weeks. She is now nearly one!

We were told boy at 13 weeks at a private ultrasound scan I had booked for other reasons. She showed me the evidence, and definitely was boy!

He turned out to be a boy at birth too.

I booked a private ultrasound at 14 weeks to find out the gender and they told me boy, this was confirmed at my 20 week scan and a scan at 27 weeks for reduced fetal movement. I think it all depends on the equipment they use and how experienced the sonographer is.

Our sonographer said 60/40 girl at 20 week scan and at our private scan she was confirmed a girl 😊 maybe give it a few more weeks for better accuracy

Hello everyone!
I am currently around 16 weeks with my second already have a little girl! So I went for a private reassurance scan around 11 and a half weeks. Without me asking two different ladies in there told me the baby looked like a little girl (they did say it’s early and can change but would be surprised if it did) I then went for my normal nhs scan 12+5 - when I mentioned the private scan she said she would have a look at the gender (again I didn’t ask but she offered) and said baby looked like a girl. Now the private scan place recommended I went back for gender scan at 14 weeks (I did question it being too early but they reassured me because I have a low bmi they could tell) anyway I had that scan done exactly 14 weeks and they said boy! So of course I am in massive shock! Is it just too early for any of the scans and should I go into my 20 week one with an open mind… I feel like I am leaning to it being a boy though! I couldn’t see anything obvious on the scan other than a bulge at certain angles! I should add these scans were 2D potty shot ones…

thank you in advance for help and support 💗

@1991be whoever told you at 11 weeks was being ridiculous. There is nub theory but it shouldn’t be done before 12 weeks as all nubs look girly. Most accurate is 12+4-14 weeks for nub theory. After that you need a shot of the genitals which should be minimum 16 weeks but better if you leave it until 20 weeks. It’s not about your bmi, it’s to do with when the babies genitals develop. I’m sorry you’ve had such poor experiences from the nhs. They shouldn’t be telling you sex until 20 weeks

What did the baby turn out to be? I sent my photos off for nub theory at 12+4 and it came back as boy, had a scan at 13+2 and the sonographer said it's a little boy. Had another scan at 14 weeks and different sonographer. She also said it's a little boy!
