Hi all, 40 weeks 1 day today, I had a sweep last Friday and lost my mucus plug the Saturday had another sweep yesterday and she stretched me to 2cm aswell, bled after which she said was normal, and I'm pretty sure just now today I had a bloody show it was like a lot of thick/slimy discharge that was light in colour and straight after I had very intense cramping for about 5-10 mins after and since then I've had on and off period like cramps only mild but still uncomfortable, I was just wondering how long after your bloody show did Labour start and how did it start and what did it feel like, I feel like I'm always looking out for symptoms and I'm tired now and want this baby out ahaha.

Sounds promising, but also could unfortunately be nothing :(
DD1, waters broke 40+6, on and off cramping and contractions for 24hours, until labour established a bit more, never had a show etc
DD2, period cramps for about 2-3hours, 1hour of 3 in 10 contractions, checked and only 2cm, thick ane high, but baby was in my arms 2 hours later!
Currently 39+6 with DS1, had cramping and tightening for last 10 days, show last Wednesday night after a sweep, really crampy that night but nothing since and still only 1cm and posterior cervix with high baby 🙈
Basically I have no idea! Every labour really does seem to be different even for the same person x

With DD I didn't really notice anything but was woken at 3am with cramping, thought maybe I just needed a wee bit by the time I came back from the bathroom I just had a feeling it was contractions.
I started timing them and they were 10 mins apart within 30 mins. That then sped up and a couple of hours later they were 5 mins apart.
My DD was born at 10am, my waters broke on the way to the hospital.
She was born 39+5 so really fast and no real indication that she was planning on coming.
I'm hoping next one (due Jan) is similar as it was quite straight forward but you just never know.
Fingers crossed your little one makes an appearance soon.
The symptom spotting drives you mad doesn't it?!? 🤣

With my first I had a bloody show in the middle of the night at 38+5 and that was the start of early labour - it eased off that day and contractions picked back up in the evening, went to hospital around 11pm and baby was born 5pm the next day.

With my second at 38 weeks I was feeling cramps but not contractions all day. Had brown mucus that evening, went to lie down on the couch, stood up and waters broke dramatically and contractions immediately started, 3 minutes apart. She was born 4 hours later.

I also had a feeling with both of mine that that was the start so I think we can have an inkling about when it will happen!

Thank you this has given me some what hope 🤞🏽 fingers crossed that tonight is the night and I don't have to wait any longer to meet her 🥰 I'm so tired now and I had a feeling that Wednesday would be the day so maybe I was right! I'm really hoping so!
