This baby moves a LOT! Is that ok?!

I'm 22 weeks and have an anterior placenta - I had an anterior placenta with my son and rarely ever felt him! But this time around this boy moves a lot.

I'm just a bit worried by the fact he seems to always be awake?! I wake up in the night for a wee, he's moving, I wake up in the morning he's moving, I sit at my desk he's moving, I'm on the sofa at night he's moving. It's not 24/7 but I'll feel him atleast once most hours, there never seems to be a few hours in a row where he's asleep and quiet

All I did was panic about not feeling my son and now I'm panicking about feeling too much! Someone reassure me please 😂

Hey! Not much advice but I'm in the same boat 🙂 27 weeks, I had anterior placenta with my first too not sure about this one they haven't told me but it feels like I feel the baby is kicking constantly! Not sure if maybe it's just because it's my second and all the stomach muscles are a bit weaker this time round or something since I know it's easier to feel later babies. Sometimes they're kicking for like 30 minutes straight and I'm confused because I'm thinking shouldn't you be asleep?? When my daughter was born she wouldn't even be awake 10 mins at a time between feeds really she'd just eat then doze off so it's hard to imagine them staying awake a long time.

I was looking online at old mumsnets forums where other people had the same experience because like you I was almost starting to wonder if this was too much lol, but it seems pretty common and lots of people who had very active babies in pregnancy were saying they were born healthy so I wouldn't worry too much 🙂

My baby was really active in the womb too. He's still constantly moving now (11mo) Grin

I'm pregnant with number 3, this one has an anterior placenta (others didnt) but is definitely the most active. I wonder if we're just more in tune to the movements etc than first time? As long as they stick to their pattern its fine x

My little man is super active. I'm 38 weeks now and all the apps said "you might feel a little less movements as space is tight". Since 37 weeks he has actually been even more active (or, at least, I feel him even more).

I also have an anterior placenta. My assumption is, because placenta is out front, baby spends all his time cuddling the placenta meaning I feel him a lot more than someone whose baby is facing their back! I also am very much carrying outwards and have a large bump, probably also because he is constantly hanging out at the very outward of my bump as per all my scans so far.

My son was like this, I felt like I had a washing machine constantly on spin in there.

He's 10 now and still can't really sit still...

@EMC2022 I could have written your post! My Google searches include 'can a baby move to much at 38 weeks' 😂 I'm also carrying really outward which has pushed my fundal height right up. Had a growth scan and she is much smaller than everyone expected.

fWIW, my DS was like this, he is now 20 and has always been very active and once he was old enough really into loads of sports and athletics, particularly long distance running.

Haha I literally googled the exact same thing. My scan showed he is a bit of a big one alright. Up in the 85th centile with a 98th centile head (hoping for my sake that the head measurement was a bit inaccurate) 😂
