Pregnancy after abortion

Hi
I wanted some advice. I had an abortion beginning of august, a medical termination, I was about 7 weeks along. It was the worst decision I ever made. I regretted it so much. My period finally arrived on 30th September and lasted 6 days. On the 5th day of my period my partner and I had unprotected sex. Going back to my abortion there was a tiny tiny bit of pregnancy tissue left which they said should come out on my period and not concerning.
I randomly decided to do a pregnancy test today (or 4😂)and they've come out as a faint positives. I just don't know if it could be the left over tissue or a new pregnancy as I know it's early days and the fact I was towards right at the end of my period . Considering I had my period and now I don't even know if the hcg levels could be still there from before. When I got my blood test done a couple weeks before my period my hcg level went down from 21 to 19 then to 9.. and these were all done every two days.

Are you meaning to get pregnant again? I totally understand the regret. But you had your reasons for the termination. If you are pregnant will these reasons still be valid.
you have to be totally honest with yourself and your partner about another pregnancy

Could be the leftover tissue and the hcg slowly reducing but also could be a new pregnancy. If you ring early pregnancy or your Gp they will be able to do a blood test and the numbers from this will be able to tell you that for sure. Xx

Did you have to do any tests after your abortion to make sure they were negative? Some tests are really sensitive and seeing as it wasn't that long ago then I'd be wary it might just be a sensitive test picking up low levels of hcg from your previous pregnancy. Probably best to get in touch with your gp for some further blood tests to check your hcg levels.

I can totally relate to the regret you're feeling. I had a termination myself and went through so many emotions afterwards. Not saying its the same for you, but I definitely went through a lot of tests afterwards thinking i could be pregnant again and it would relieve the guilt. Whatever your reasons for your abortion were, I'm sure it was the right decision for you at the time. Grieve for your loss ❤️ for me personally, it took a long time for me to heal emotionally afterwards and only now can I look back and see what a real struggle it was and the toll it took on me. Wishing you all the best ❤️

They should keep an eye on the left over pregnancy tissue.

Mine didn’t go with my period and left a scar that caused problems getting pregnant again.

I had a scan yesterday and the leftover pregnancy tissue has completely gone. I had my hcg levels checked yesterday via blood test and they were just 3. Which is considered a negative. But my pregnancy tests are showing a positive, not a dark line but line is still there and noticeable. Im so confused now

I can't see any line but I highly suggest you get on some form of contraception and spend some time processing your feelings. What could of changed do much in a few short weeks? You shouldn't have a baby based on guilt.

I can see very faint lines on those tests. Did the lines appear within the time frame? Something else I noticed after my abortion, and not sure if it's coincidence or from me doing so many tests, but almost every test I did without fail I would get strong evap lines come up. On a few tests the evap lines appeared before the time had completely ran out. But they were all negative really. Not sure if it's something to do with the hormones or just nature's cruel joke, but before my abortion I'd never once got an evap line on a test.

Hiya! How long did you have retained tissue? I saw a comment above saying it can cause scarring which affects getting pregnant? I had left over tissue for 17 weeks, iv had 2 periods since it came out and I’m terrified it will affect my fertility or caused scarring?
