Hi everyone. So I just found out I am pregnant, we were trying and this is our first. I actually thought I’d missed ovulation as my DH was too tired when I thought I was ovulating, we actually DTD 5 days later just for fun and well I must of ovulated later then I thought! 😂 I was just wondering what are my next steps? None of my siblings or friends have children so I can’t ask for advice from them, do I need to call my doctor straight away? Thanks for all your help :)

You can ring your gp surgery to get yourself on the system but you prob wont see anyone until your booking appointment which is usually around 10 weeks. Congratulations!

What do you mean, "What do I do next?"

You see your GP or midwife, and get registered for antenatal care/clinics etc.

If you look on your GP surgery website you will see information which will direct you to the right place to send your details to the midwife . You will get a booking appointment usually by week 10-12.

Thanks for the positive and uplifting message! Not everyone is the same and some people aren’t sure. But thanks for the great advice.

Check your local maternity hospital website as some hospital you call the hospital direct and don't need to go via the GP.
Congratulations on your pregnancy

In my area you choose the hospital you want to be under and self refer on their website. No need to see the GP.
