5+4 weeks pregnant bleeding

Hi I’m 5+4 weeks, first pregnancy. Yesterday around mid day, I experienced a brown discharge, soon after within an hour it turned into fresh red blood carrying a small clot, and now since yesterday it’s bleeding just like I would in a period. No pain as such but a dull ache in lower back and lower tummy since a night before this started. I am unfortunately travelling and return back to the uk tomorrow. Spoke to the midwife yesterday and have been advised to go to A&E when I get back or get a referral to the EPU through the gp. Very upset as I don’t know if I’ve miscarried or may be it’s subchorionic hematoma. No idea. Also to add since last night my breast tenderness has dulled down. Please can someone advise who has gone through something similar? Thanks.

I haven’t had quite the same but I just wanted to leave a comment to say I hope things settle down for you soon- I can understand the worry. hope your flight back is comfortable and that you can be seen soon xX

Probably not what you want to hear but very similar happened to me at 9wks pregnant and it was a miscarriage.
BUT I have also read multiple posts on forums about people who have had bleeding through pregnancy and everything was fine.

So don't give up hope, until you have the facts to do otherwise.

Just get seen as soon as you can.
Sending well wishes and really hope all is okay.I can understand how worried and scared you must feel xx

Thank you for your reply and concern. I have cried on and off for a day and feel lighter. I think I'm mentally prepared for any sort of outcome now, but still hoping that things take a positive turn. xx

Sorry to hear that about your loss. Yes I have read both sides of the story, so still have hope that things might turn out positive. I have mentally prepared myself though for the worst too. As it's my first pregnancy, I really don't know what to expect and feel lost. Any way will get checked and take it from there. Thank you for your reply and concern. xx

@Jerry2690 I was further along 6+4 started as brown discharge-
Went to EPU. Look and scans all fine.
Retune home Gushes of red blood- called them- they wouldn't scan for a week.

7+5 I was scanned again- everything fine and heartbeat could be seen. Couldn't see what had caused the bleeding. Follow up scan 8+6, Baby all fine but they found a fibroid.
I'm a cautiously optimistic 14+3 today and all going well so far.

Really hope it's good news for you.
