Pregnant at 41 after previous MC

Hi all. I'm 41, I just did a pregnancy test 2 days ago after having various symptoms that were pointing towards me being pregnant. It was one of those fancy Clearblue tests that tells you how far along you are. It said Pregnant 3+ weeks. My last period was 6 weeks ago. I have 2 older kids from my previous relationship who are 12 and 14. Unfortunately I had an MC at 10 weeks in 2020. We started trying for a baby again in mid-2021, NTNP at first, then I started doing ovulation tracking after a few months of trying. Both of us are also taking various vitamins and supplements that are supposed to help with TTC.

I was starting to think it just wasn't going to happen for us. I would absolutely love to have a child with my DP. He is brilliant with my older DCs, and they have said many times they would love a sibling. Right now, I am feeling somewhere in between being very excited and also very cautious considering my age and previous MC. DP feels the same way about it. He is excited but nervous. Haven't told anyone I'm pregnant yet except DP. When I was pregnant last time, we both got a bit too excited and started telling people too early. I am just doing all I can to stay calm and hoping I can make it through to 12 weeks at least.

I've just had a baby at 41 after a miscarriage too. The anxiety is hard, you just have to take it one day at a time and try to stay as distracted as you can. Best of luck.

Hi, I am in pretty much exactly the same situation as you in terms of older children with ex DH, now remarried and DH has no children of his own but has been a brilliant Dad to my 3 DDs and I'm 40. Suffered a MMC last December now currently 15 1/2 weeks pregnant and so far everything has been perfect. I thought it was never going to happen for us and would always end badly, I was very anxious in the first trimester with this baby, I cried when I hear their heart beat on my first scan. There is hope, wishing you all the luck in the world 😊
