Early scan-some advice please

My lmp was 10.12.07 and i have worked out that i am around 6w5d pregnant, went for an early scan yesterday and they said they can see an gestational sac around 5.0mm with a yolk but no fetal pole or heartbeat. He said that i look about 4-5 weeeks and to go back in 10 days time to check if its grown, is this normal?? We only did it once that month so know that my dates are right, but am now worrying that maybe they should of seen a fetal pole or heartbeat, i also had a missed m/c 2 years ago. hey titchy77, I hope this helps you i am no expert by any means but i had an early scan and they said i was 5 weeks pg but when i worked out my dates etc i made it 8weeks! try to remember its not an exact science (date wise) i will be thinking of you and i hope everything goes well.

Really just to say that the journey time for sperm to egg, then egg down fallopian tube and implantation are averages, but some take longer and some are quicker. Basically, although you know when you BD, the little wrigglers could have been hanging around a while waiting on you actually ovulating...IYSWIM?

Sorry to hear about the mmc, I know how worrying pg is after that experience. They have offered a return appointment which seems a reasonable timescale and they should be able to see something by then.

im not good at working dates out etc..
but i wish good luck when you go next scan. im sure they know what they see, so it may be a bit early to be measured or seen.

if you have worked out your dates to be 6w5d
foetus age should be around 4-5 weeks so everything should be fine
sorry to hear about the MC nobody deserves to go through that. keep us posted x

hi titchy, i also am pregnant with my second, my lmp was on the 11.12.07 so i thought i was 6+2,i went fo r a dating scan on the 24.01.08 and was told that there was only a gest sac and no yolk sac or fetalpole, it was measuring 10mm and i was told that i am only 5 wek plus 1. so i am very worried too as i have had a mmc and was 12weeks 5 days. but from wot i have been reading it is normal not to c the fetal pole anad yolk sac this early on. i am schelduled to go bk on the 7.02.08 so i will be 7weeks 1 day by there dates and 8 wks 2 days by mine. so they said there goin to compare the sizes. but i am so worried i am goin to maybe book for next mon which i will supposidly be 6 weeks plus 5 days. but as i say i thought i was futher, hope this helps u,keep us posted smile

your situ sounds similar to mine. Had early scan and from my LMP was apparently 7 weeks pregnant, but scan was measuring me at 4+6 and gestational sac 10 mm-but no yolk or anything else showing. Im due bck for another scan 12/02 and the waiting is a killer.
I really, really hope that all goes well for you with this scan.

hi suze i went for a scan on mon and all was there,so i was so relieved,should have been 6+5 by there dates and 7+6 by mine, but they sayin i 7+3 now so they were 8 days bhind my dates but now they only 4 days bhind,so i still reckon my dates r the rite ones,i dont have to go bk now until 11 march so i will keep u all posted. i was so nervous,every lil niggle and pain i gettin i worriein like mad,prob jus me bein paranoid
