When did your second baby arrive?

Went into spontaneous labour at 40+1 with my dd.

I'm having an ELCS this time and would like to have it at 40 weeks, no medical need for me to have it beforehand.

When did your second baby come, compared to your first?

2 days later than my first at 38+2.

10 days later and induced so might have hung around longer if I’d let her!

DD1 was 39+3 and spontaneous labour.
DD2 was 40+6 and induced at 40+5.

Ist on due date.
2nd 7 days earlier.
3rd 10 days earlier than due date.

39+6 for DC2, compared to 40+4 for DC1's labour to start for arrival at 40+5.

My second had the audacity to arrive 5 days late. My first was very considerate and made their appearance a day early.

First was 40 + 3 and second 39+ 5 both spontaneous 🙂 second baby came VERY FAST.

2 weeks and 1 day early. Didn't get any mat leave! And had to be blue lighted in because labour went from nothing to water breaking and strong contractions. They thought I wouldn't make it to hospital.

My first was 8 days early, and took 36 hours.

Two spontaneous labours, DC 2 came 6 days earlier than DC 1. (DC1 39+4, DC2 38+5).

I read somewhere the second is five days earlier on average

They do ELCS normally around 39 weeks based on statistics. If they leave you till 40 weeks the chances of the baby coming spontaneously increases. If you do go into labour they will have to do an emergency section which costs more money for the NHS and increases the risk to baby.

DD1 - 40+5 spontaneous labour
DD2 - 40+2 spontaneous labour that progressed very quickly! I was barely in the hospital half an hour before she was born.

Went in to labour at 40+1 with first, born at 40+2. With DS2, went into labour and he arrived on his due date.
