First Pregnancy!! Help!!

Hello all!

I've recently found out I'm pregnant, I'm currently 6 weeks. Me and my partner are overjoyed of course but I am super anxious about everything. (I have anxiety in general anyway) I just need reassurance really.

I'm feeling SO nauseas pretty much daily, and have a little cramps now and then. I'm pretty tired also. Taking folic acid and vitamin D, I've quit caffeine and generally trying to make healthier food choices.

I was on Sertraline 100mg a day for my anxiety but I'm now withdrawing from that too as I do not want that to affect my baby at all.

So I feel like I'm going through the ringer but I know millions of women go through this everyday. I don't think ever appreciated what a change it is for our bodies.

Anyway, am I doing the right things? What would you recommend? Anything you wish you knew when you were in your first pregnancy?

I also love to exercise running etc, any good workout recommendations would be welcome too.

Thank you very much ❤️

Sounds like you're doing everything you should be. Check with your doc before coming off medication though.

I know it's easier said than done but try to relax and rest as much as you can. Exercise wise, If you were running before you got pregnant you can carry on - just don't overdo it. They advise not taking up 'new' exercises - so don't go starting heavy weight lifting for example!

If your sickness is very bad your doctor
May be able to prescribe something, if it's manageable it usually eases around 12 weeks so hopefully will for you too!

Good luck 😊

Hang in there! The first trimester is rough.

you’re doing everything you should.

im also taking the pregnacare max vitamins as they have fish oil (good for baby brain) and also lots of other good stuff (including folate and vit d).

you’re probably going to feel a bit worse for a while as your body adjusts to stopping the caffeine and the anxiety medication, so be patient with yourself and pamper yourself.

It will get better in 6-8 weeks. Enjoy your second trimester as you might hit some rough waters in the 3rd again, acid reflux, fogginess, tiredness again, etc. that’s how it was for me. I’m in the 2nd now and again, as with my first pregnancy, feeling much better now.

It’s also common to have anxiety during pregnancy especially the first one.

you can try pregnancy yoga, especially if you can find a local group in your area. I used to have that in my old city and while the yoga wasn’t much, it was lovely to meet with other pregnant women and as part of the session we also had time to talk about whatever was in our minds, have a tea and a biscuit. I liked that more than the yoga itself. I need to see if there is something like this where I live now too.

good luck 🍀 and have an easy (as easy as possible:) ) pregnancy

With running specifically - you are allowed to run if your body is used to it but aim to keep conversational pace and be aware you may be out of puff or overheat more easily ☺️

I liked Pregnancy and Postpartum TV on YouTube for workouts.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m 8 weeks and also feeling quite anxious about everything so I think it’s completely normal, I’m hoping it subsides a bit as things progress.

It sounds like you’re doing everything you should be which is great, but definitely speak to your doctor about your meds if you haven’t already. They might be able to recommend some alternative treatment for you while you are pregnant.

With the nausea, I’ve found eating little and often has really helped, whenever I have an empty stomach it seems to kick start it. Also eating mainly plain beige foods seems to be working too. Good luck with everything Flowers
