Freaking out - potential undiagnosed GD, inductions etc

So went for a presentation scan today at 36+6 as midwife thought baby was breech - sonographer said it’s head down (yay!) but measuring big. 97th centile - around 7lbs 14oz. Gulp.
sonographer sent me immediately over to maternity assessment to speak to a consultant.
Consultant wonders if maybe I may have had undiagnosed Gd and I’m going for a finger prick test tomorrow to check. Induction has been booked for 38+3.
there could be no diabetes, or there could be. If so I need to manage it for just over a week or if blood sugars are really high they might intervene quicker.

Just super nervous about babies weight and the implications of undiagnosed Gd? As far as I’m aware I’m symptomless and not had complications but just feeling overwhelmed.

anyone else had undiagnosed GD and all been ok?

Can't help with the GD side but my LO was born by ELCS at 37+2 weighing 8lb8 and no-one suggested anything about his size (other than his head being massive, over 99th centile, just like my husband's!).

I was diagnosed with GD at 35 weeks and was able to manage it with just diet. Baby came early naturally at 37+5 weighing 8lb4 with no issues

I had possibly undiagnosed gd with my first. Born 10 days early 8 7 at birth. No issues with either of us. Second diagnosed gd on insulin at the end induced at 37 weeks everything 6 10 both fine from blood sugars pov afterwards but did have to make sure I woke to feed regularly first couple of nights.

Not undiagnosed as caught with GD with about 10 weeks to go but was induced at bang on 37 weeks as dd was measuring 41 weeks plus and was expected to weigh 10-11lbs.
She was 8lb 6 at birth so could well have gone to 10lb full term but was perfectly healthy, just a little yellow and cold. We stayed in for 3 days but she was fine.
A day earlier( 36+6) and my massive baby would have been heading for SCBU.
She's 15 now and 6ft tall so was never going to be a tiddler.

I had the same at 39 weeks, Sonographer even said take the weight estimate with a massive pinch of salt as they are so inaccurate that late on. I was told 9 pound 13.
Was sent to see doctor who gave said maybe GD but my test had been negative with no symptoms throughout. Told me to choose between section and induction, said no but will have a sweep. Born 4 days later 8 pound 6!!

Not undiagnosed GD, but I was diagnosed around 32 weeks. I already had a planned section for 39+1 so I was monitored with growth scans etc for the remainder of the pregnancy.
Although mine was diagnosed, I do believe it would have gone undiagnosed but I was already having monthly growth scans due to losing my son at 32 weeks last year, otherwise I had no symptoms.
My baby was always measuring on the 97th percentile, we were told they thought she would be over 9lb, she was actually 8lb 6.
They monitored her blood sugars for 24 hours before each feed and she was absolutely fine each time, so nothing happened after that ☺️
I also ended up on Metformin and insulin as something happened over night whilst I was fasting that sent my blood sugars crazy for some reason!
