Could it be a sign of ectopic?

Hello.

I had another post, but I'm quite stressed and really would use some advice. Got my positive test on Sunday, and had hcg at 17, been bleeding lightly from Friday to Monday. Tuesday my hcg dropped to 12.8 and bleeding become heavier with clots and continues to the day. Doctor said it's probably a chemical.
Today I went for other test and also took another hcg and it's 20.5. I'm not experiencing severe pain. Only normal menstrual cramps from time to time.

Should I be worried or does hcg usually go up and down before things go back to normal?

Thank you so much!

All bleeding whilst pregnant could be a sign of ectopic, without any pain your GP is likely to be correct with their “probably chemical”, but ectopic is possible. Be v aware of all of the symptoms of ectopic and if need be go straight to A& E. I’m sorry this is happening to you.

Thanks @MrsKaleidoscope . My Doctor said I should repeat the hcg in 2 days but I m going nuts in fear something could go wrong in the meaning...

Ah you poor love. I don’t want to scaremonger; the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust website is very good for accurate information.

Sorry to hear. Maybe someone who went through something similar could share their experience. Take care.

Thank you for the replies.

Just an update in case someone goes through something similar. Dr told me that my hcg levels were way below anything they would consider as pregnancy, even an ectopic one. As well, as I am bleeding red, it shouldn't be ectopic; for ectopic the bleeding is darker. And lastly, bleeding should have started later and mine appears to be menstrual bleeding.

I'm still quite tense, but I need to trust the dr and chill, not to go completely crazy. I will also go for an ultrasound next week.

Ladies, stay healthy and happy!
