Pregnant with covid and loss of taste/smell

Currently 38 weeks with covid (great!) and I’ve only just lost my smell and taste. The one thing I really didn’t want to happen!

Has anyone else experienced covid in pregnancy and loss of smell/taste? If so how long did it take to come back?

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow so still really early but caught covid at 9 weeks after avoiding for the past two years (why now?! 😂), I had a feeling I had it because I couldn't smell, then I lost my taste. I would say about 2 weeks till it came back for me!

@xalexandra same here! Haven’t ever caught covid and now I get it when I’m so close to due date as well! Losing smell and taste was always going to be the one thing I really didn’t want. I feel hard done by 😂but amazing you got yours back fairly soon! Hoping I don’t have to wait too long for it to return

My friend wasn't sure if she had Civid, it was January 2020 when she lost her sense of smell and taste and hasn't got it back since ;( She saya that sometimes she gets a sense of taste fir a few seconds.

I hope you've regained yours by now?

@SassyPants87 That's great 😊! Can you imagine life without being able to enjoy food and smell nice things lol

@SassyPants87 ps: I'm 22 weeks pregnant now, testes positive for Covid yesterday morning- I never get ill, never had it before and I just hope it'll be okay for the baby and me, plus my senses will stay intact! Uff
