I was going to ask the same question, I have had two DDs and had completely different shaped bumps but felt the same in the early days (ms, same cravings etc). This time I felt a little but different in the cravings but the same feelings in the first 12 weeks.

Had totally different pregnancies but had girls both times!!

chankins · 25/01/2008 21:32

MIne were all different in many ways : had two dds and one ds.

My 1st and 2nd pregnancies were different. 1st was girl, 2nd boy. I had a bit of nausea with ds1. But then went on to have 5 more boys and wasn't nauseaus (sp) at all. So i don't think you can tell.

Ds1 is different from the rest of his siblings though! He is exactly like me in personality, colourings etc...all the rest of the children are like their dad.

I have always wondered if the reason i was sick with him is because he is so like me!

My theory is - different pregnancies - same gender

Same pregnancies - different gender.

I know there's always exceptions to the rule - but I've met so many people that this applies to that it's getting wierd!!

All of my pregnancies have been virtually identical yet I have ds1, dd2 and dd3. Pregnant again and experiencing similar symptoms again.

Don't really think there's a reliable pattern. If so, someone would have made a fortune by now!

Have a friend who had DS first and was desparate for a girl 2nd time. Had identical pregnancy 2nd time, was convinced she was having another boy but had a GIRL
