11 weeks pregnant and bleeding

Hi guys,
First time posting just looking for some hope and reassurance. I am currently 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant with my first child this is also my first ever pregnancy.
I woke up this morning to find I had started bleeding bright red blood. I would say there was a medium amount? It was more than spotting but it wasn’t gushing out either it was more just red when wiping. I have also been having some cramping quite mild nothing severe but I don’t know if this is due to stretching/also being constipated.
I managed to get seen today at EPU I was not given a scan but I was seen by a consultant who checked my cervix she said my cervix looked great it was closed and in the exact position it should be etc and that I wasn’t actively miscarrying and to just take it easy until my 12 week scan which is in 5 days time. Since then the bleeding does seem to have stopped it’s just a bit brown now when I wipe which I’m guessing is old blood, still cramping but again it’s not severe.
I was just wondering if anyone has gone through anything similar and all has been okay? It feels like my 12 week can is a lifetime away!
(I will also add I had a private scan around 5 days ago just for reassurance at 10+4 and baby was absolutely fine and measuring correctly etc)

I had the exact same and my little girl is nearly 4. It's a good sign that your cervix is closed. Try to take it easy.

I had it at 4, 8 and 12 weeks. I was a nervous wreck. Gave birth to a 10lb+ baby.

@Onceinnever thank you this gives me hope! Since about 3pm I’ve only had the tiniest tiniest bit of brown spotting and pains have pretty much gone now so taking this as a good sign? And I’ve still very much got my usual pregnancy symptoms of sickness/nausea and painful boobs! X

I remember waiting 3 days for my 12 week scan and it felt like forever. Hope it's all good news for you too.

@ancientgran thank you it’s very scary isn’t it? I’m trying to remain as calm as possible and having the rest of the week off work and just resting. Bleeding has completely stopped now so I’m taking that as a good sign but still nervous for my scan on Monday, tempted to have a private one but I’m not sure if there is much point with my dating scan only being 5 days away haha

I had this with my first pregnancy, went to hospital on the Friday was 10+5 with brown blood cervix checked told all well it was closed, on the sat I started miscarring bleeding heavy, not saying this to scare you just I wish I had of been told it could go either way, hoping your scan goes well and you get a great outcome xx

I had bleeding at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy, from that same pregnancy I now have a 2 year old. It was for 3 days and a small-moderate amount, bright red blood. My symptoms all mysteriously stopped too, stopped feeling sick didn’t feel pregnant. I didn’t have any infections. Must have mentally just switched off. I had a scan with nhs and was told all was absolutely fine and she was wriggling away, from that point onwards I didn’t have any other issues with the pregnancy. Hope this provides some reassurance that it can also be quite normal to have bleeding.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and have actually got my scan tomorrow, I would say about 5 days ago, I went to the toilet and saw lots of brown discharge and haven't had any throughout the whole pregnancy so obviously it's a panic as you just associate brown/red blood with something bad. If it resolves itself within a couple of days, I think it pretty much would suggest everything is fine... and actually I've heard soooo many people saying they've bled/brown discharge etc. It sounds positive for you so I wouldn't worry ❤️

I ended up having a private scan today as I felt I couldn’t wait for my 12 week scan next week as I was just getting more and more anxious. I went for my scan terrified but happy to report baby is absolutely fine heart beating away and having a dancing party! So so relieved and all my brown spotting has almost stopped. Sonographer had a look around and couldn’t find any cause for the bleeding so hopefully no more!

Hi I'm new here ☺️ so glad everything us okay for you! I'm 11 weeks 4 days pregnant and had some brown when I wiped last night and for most of the day today but now seems to have stopped. I don't have my 12 week scan for another 4 days so was just hoping for some reassurance 🤞 thank you x
