Anterior placenta, first baby

Hi everyone, I'm 18+3 today and wondering when other ladies with anterior placenta first felt baby? I've been told not to expect to feel anything until well over 20 weeks and even at that could be another few weeks until I'm feeling anything regularly

Bits and bobs just after 20 weeks, proper kicks 24 weeks

I've got an anterior placenta, but it's my 3rd pregnancy. I felt flutters around 16 weeks as I did with previous pregnancies but they were inside me, like where your bladder/cervix would be and not near my stomachs surface where I first felt DD1 and DD2 move, if it's your first you could definitely miss these movement's. By 21 weeks hubby could feel baby which is about the same as previous pregnancies (even with my now 'softer' stomach 😂)
Everyone's different, don't stress too much it's still early days x

First felt something at 23 weeks, it was more consistent from 25 weeks.

I had an anterior placenta with my first baby and I felt kicks from 18 weeks. They were a very wriggly baby and I felt kicks pretty strongly all the time once they got going! I was surprised because people said I wouldn't feel them much with an anterior placenta.

I felt proper little pokes in my upper abdomen from 20-21 ish weeks and by 28 weeks felt proper kicks and movements. I'm 38 weeks now and feel him moving lots, day and night. I was told by one midwife I might hardly feel anything all pregnancy (helpful 🙄) but the Consultant and my community midwife were lot more reassuring (and were right).

Congratulations! Approximately 24 weeks, first baby and anterior placenta.

I could feel from 18ish weeks but my anterior is over to the left hand side so could feel kicks on the right. I was told by 28 weeks baby is bigger than the placenta so you feel more then. I'm 37 weeks now and can feel strong movements regularly!

I felt movements from around 20 weeks and then they really got going at about 24 weeks 😊

I felt little twitches from 19 weeks, but only if I was lying down with my hands on my belly. Now at 22 weeks the movements are getting bigger and can see my belly move sometimes. But it's still not consistent. I don't feel much at all in the day time and some days very little movement.

I had one with my firat pregnancy. Felt something from around 18 weeks but didn't realise it was kicks until it happened during the 20 week scan and the radiographer said "baby's kicking". No other issues during the pregnancy and by later in the pregnancy I could definitely feel all the kicking. In fact, it was worse than my second pregnancy where I didn't have an anterior placenta.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 05/10/2022 06:47

First baby. 19.5 weeks, started to feel little movements but only if I was lying down concentrating. I'm 20 weeks and yesterday I felt her in the day for the first time but when I was scanned, they did say probs at least 21 weeks before I properly feel her. I wouldn't worry, it's only a matter of time!

tealandteal · 05/10/2022 06:52

I had anterior placenta but with 2nd baby, felt first kick on the day of my 20 week scan. The amount of movement I felt was similar to my first as in number of movements per day but it was all in the top part of my belly.

P0mbears · 05/10/2022 06:55

I had anterior placenta with both pregnancies. Think I felt movements after the 20 week scan both times. Probably more like 24 weeks to feel any consistent movements. I miss those feelings now! Congratulations and good luck ☺️

Smiffette · 06/10/2022 11:40

I remember it was quite a while, it was around 24 weeks when I felt obvious moments.

Even at the scan when she was wiggling around I couldn't feel a thing so that helped with no worrying
