Bleeding but visible heartbeat

Hi everyone,

I am 6 weeks plus 2 and last night I got really bad pelvic pain, like period style cramping followed by bleeding :( First it was light pink, then dark and then light again and included a large clot. I went to my local hospital who examined me and then did a scan where we could see the baby and also hear the heartbeat. The doctor said it was measuring correctly for my time but had no explanation for the bleeding.

I still have slight cramping and dark blood this morning. I have another scan next week. Has anyone had this and gone on to successfully carry? Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks

I had bleeding around 5-6 weeks for 2 weeks. Mainly when wiping but I had two instances of thick red blood. When I went for a scan they detected a haematoma - not sure how to spell! I went for a follow up check at 8 weeks and it had reabsorbed. I’m now 12 weeks and baby is growing nicely. Hope you get some answers!

I had bleeding at 6 weeks, followed by a heartbeat detected. No-one bothered to tell me at the time, but it was a haematoma similar to the previous poster that resolved naturally. Said pregnancy is now a noisy toddler. Hope all goes well for you!

Two successful pregnancies with bleeding throughout the first trimester. It can really go either way.

thanks for your replies. Yea I just had some dark blood yesterday and this morning but it’s very light. Hoping for the best but very worried
