Hello London based mums,
I am a trainee child/adolescent psychotherapist with Birkbeck College looking for a pregnant mother who would be interesting in participating in mother-infant observations as part of my training and research. These observations are a key part of the training as early infant development can be observed first-hand providing an opportunity for learning through experience rather than through theory alone, this valuable experience also informs future work with children in a therapeutic capacity as many early interactions shape how we relate and behave as we grow up.
These would be weekly 1 hour observations within the home from soon after birth up until the baby’s first birthday. Observations would take place at the same time each week to mimic the time frame of therapy and my role would be purely observational. Breaks are included for Christmas Easter and summer.
If anyone is interested in volunteering in the North London area or has any questions please contact me via email at: [email protected]
and I will be happy to answer your queries.
Many thanks,
Niamh O’Shea
