Got a text out of the blue saying I have a consultant appointment (worried)

Hi all,

I have just received a text saying I have a consultant appointment this Wednesday and I have no idea what for as I rang up to confirm to my attendance and asked why it could be and she didn't know why herself. I am not usually with a consultant, I have been having appointments with my midwife and am due one next week as far as I am aware as I am currently 35 weeks and had one, one week ago where she said the height and heartbeat were good. So I am asking this as I am curious and worried, is it normal to receive a text like this later on in the pregnancy and only 2 days in advance? I wouldn't know as I am a first time mum.

Thank you

Could be a number of reasons. If your bmi is high could be anaesthetist? I would call and ask.

Sorry should say call a midwife to ask

More likely to be about you (eg your weight or other health issues) than the baby iyswim.

Have you requested a c section?

Is it an error? I’d contact your regular midwife if you can and ask. She might have meant to book in one of her other patients.
