11 week pressure, UTI and freaking about body changes?

Hello lovely people - looking for similar experiences and reassurance.

After a long IVF journey, I'm 11 weeks pregnant (yay) but have been experiencing awful bloating, almost like carry a rock in my stomach all the time (very not yay). It's making clothes really uncomfortable. Peppermint tea, veg and lots of water aren't making a dent. It makes me feel gross and trying to hide it at work is getting a bit stressful. I've also developed a stubborn UTI which antibiotics don't seem to be shifting (am picking this up with doctor again but needing the loo every hour is so irritating) and my lower abdominal area is feeling very tight and under pressure.

I know a lot of changes are occurring internally but I'm finding it really scary. I think seeing my nipples changing shape and colour last night has tipped me over the edge. What if my body isn't doing what it should properly?

I'm trying to stay calm (despite this message) until we get to the 12 week stage but as I'm sure you all know, it's quite challenging.

Anybody else experiencing or have experienced this? Just me? Any advice?

Yours- Finally up the duff but feeling like Michelin man.

The bloating is normal, sorry, it's the progesterone causing a sluggish digestive system. Try Simeticone and google yoga poses for gas relief.
Should fade in a few weeks.

Body changes are surprisingly difficult to deal with! I am 20 weeks and sometimes i feel like a beeched whale. I've never been bigger than a size 8, got married in March and was the fittest and slimmest I've ever been... fast forward to now and I'm having to get used to boobs that have shot up 4 sizes and this huuuuge belly that's just come from nowhere 🤣 my advice to you- get some nice maternity clothes! The difference it will make to how you feel about yourself is unreal!

It sounds like your body is doing everything it's supposed to, nipple changes etc are all signs that your pregnancy is progressing... so just enjoy it as much as possible and try not to stress! Just wait until theyre twice the size and leaking colostrum 🙈😅

I absolutely love my bump now that I have clothes that fit, wish I'd done it earlier when I was bloated (until around 14 weeks!)

I second getting some nice maternity clothes. I swapped out of my jeans into maternity leggings at 11 weeks and the relief of not feeling all tight and compressed was great. I felt a bit embarrassed for a while, but now I love maternity clothes that “show off” my bump.

About peppermint tea. I don’t want to worry you, I was advised that it’s not recommended during pregnancy.
