I had a growth scan and baby was measuring 5lb 9oz, so he’s on the bigger side. How much was your baby measuring at this stage if you remember? X

My son was born at 34 weeks and weighed 5lbs 4. At 6 weeks old, when he should have been due, he was 7lbs.

@generalh thank you! Did your son have to stay at the hospital for a few days after he was born or could he go home with you? X

He was in for 4 weeks as he had a problem with his breathing. He was in an incubator and then Special care for 4 weeks.

Barbequebeans64 · 02/10/2022 18:10

6lb4 at 34 weeks, 10lb at birth

Barbequebeans64 · 02/10/2022 18:11

Sorry I meant to say born at 40+1

fairgame84 · 02/10/2022 18:12

4lb 15oz on my growth scan at 33+4 weeks. She's average size just shy of 50th centile apparently.

Although I've been told that the estimated weight and actual weight can vary massively.

ReeseWitherfork · 02/10/2022 18:12

Born at 36 weeks and were 5lb11 and 5lb12. My last scan was 34 and IIRC correctly they were just over the 5lb mark.

Pumpkinpatchlookinggood · 02/10/2022 18:13

Ds was born at 35 weeks weighing 5.7.
Dropped to 4. 12. Was like taking a skinned rabbit home!

LegoFiends · 02/10/2022 18:16

Born at 34 weeks, 4 lb

blebbleb · 02/10/2022 18:17

I had my son at 34 weeks plus 2 days, he was 4lbs 11oz. I'm not sure if the growth scans are that accurate anyway.

eurochick · 02/10/2022 18:18

Mine was born at 34 weeks exactly. She was measured at 3lb6 and weighed 3lb6. She was delivered early due to IUGR.

UnityO · 02/10/2022 18:23

Born at 35 weeks - weighed 8lb 🦛

Blossomandbee · 02/10/2022 18:27

6lb 4oz at 34 week scan. 10lb at birth (a week overdue)

LittleMissSoft · 02/10/2022 18:28

@dreamerkr dc born at 33 weeks and was just an ounce shy of 5lbs

FlounderingFruitcake · 02/10/2022 18:30

4lbs according to the scan. I doubt it though because he was born at exactly 39 weeks weighing 8lb3.

Razzl · 02/10/2022 21:04

My first was estimated to be 5lbs 1oz at 33+5. He was born 8lbs 15oz at 41+5 so growth scan was pretty accurate.

My second was estimated to be 5lbs 4oz at 34+4 and 7lbs 9oz at 38+4. I’m still pregnant so not sure if these are accurate or not.

Loulou1712 · 02/10/2022 22:19

At 34+2 growth scan predicted this baby to be 6lb 7oz 🙈
At 38+2 they predicted 8lb 7oz so he does seem to be following the average gain of 0.5lb a week!
DD2 was born at 40+6 weighing 7lb which is apparently small enough to mean I needed the growth scans this pregnancy, so it's a little funny for them to now be predicting he's huge. I'm now 38+4 so will see how accurate they are once he arrives! x
