Pregnant after loss - 5+4 small gestational sac?? So worried

Hi there. I went for an early scan at 5+4 yesterday as I had some spotting. Wasn’t at hospital just one of those private ultrasound places as it was the weekend.

There was a gestational sac and yolk sac present but no fetal pole. They said the gestational sac measured at 7.8mm and that’s small but she literally pulled a sheet off google and showed us. Since then, my husband has done some reading and has seen numerous studies and things that say 7.8-8mm is actually fine for 5+4 and the presence of a gestational and yolk sac only is ok.

Side note i did go to hospital last week for the bleeding and they said it could be due to cervical erosion, as I have that. They also said my cervix was closed shut and the scan yesterday showed no blood around the sac.

I wondered if anyone has had the same with the sizes etc and all been ok?

My pregnancy in March which I lost didn’t even have a yolk sac at 6 weeks So trying to focus on that. However my daughter, born 2020 I saw a strong heartbeat at 6 weeks on the dot and measuring a few days ahead.

I also want to flag that I know my dates exactly as I had follicle tracking scans. Thanks ❤️

Blimey OP 💐for everything you are going through. I do wonder though if all this knowledge is actually helpful 5+6, which means your period is what 2 weeks late ? And you have had 2 scams already ! I would have only just been thinking about buying a pregnancy test and probably thinking if nothing by the end of the week I will test (this was early 00's), my DM said she waited until the second missed period (late 70,'s, early 80's) and GM had even less knowledge.

Although I think US are wonderful and allow us to diagnose problems early, I can't see how a scan at 5.6 weeks is helping anyone tbh and it seems to be causing you so much angst. When pregnancy loss before 6 w is soooo common maybe even as much as 50% if you are either under 20 (unlikley) or over 35.

I no way mean this as a dig I just feel so sad for you that so much emotional energy is being invested in something over which you have no control. I hope it works out for you.💐

Early pregnancy is super hard because u need lots of patience! It is way to early for them to tell if everything is going to be ok or not and definitely don’t take the doctors word at this stage. 6 weeks is a big moment so try and keep calm and see if u can book a scan in a weeks time. Good luck! Xx

Sorry I saw an autocorrect to scams and wonder if that is actually right. Presumably these place are making a total fortune from women's worries. :(
