Hey, know this has probably been discussed a million times but I need to vent. I found out Wednesday morning that I was pregnant. Faint positive on a cheapie and 1-2 on clearblue digital, Wednesday night started spotting Thursday got a little more and by early hours of Friday I had strong period like cramps and heavy bleeding. I have spoken to epu twice and been told it is a miscarriage but to test in a week if its negative just to leave it but if its still positive to ring them. I feel totally in limbo. In my heart I don't feel pregnant but I also am still clinging to what little hope there might be :(

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I wonder whether you could speak to your GP and see whether they can help at all? I was in absolute pieces and my GP didn't want to make me wait for another 2 weeks so got me a referral for a scan at EPU the next day. They also took bloods there.
I am keeping everything crossed for you and hope that you can get some clarity asap! X

Thank you! I'm just so confused. I didn't have any pregnancy symptoms but now suddenly my boobs are huge and rock solid, I didn't know that could happen with a miscarriage. I thought you had to be over 6 weeks to get a scan?! I will see how the week pans out. I plan to retest when the bleeding stops if this is before Friday but we shall see. I just don't want to be clinging on to hope when there isn't any really 😕

So sorry @Melio90. When I was having a chemical - bleeding/cramps I still had some pregnancy symptoms like sore boobs and nausea so like you, I was really confused. They went away when I stopped bleeding heavily. You’re right that you won’t see anything on a scan atm. The only thing they could do is measure HCG in your bloods but they generally won’t do it that early. I was testing negative on a home test already when the heavy bleeding started. Take care of yourself, it’s horrible x

I experienced something similar a few weeks ago. I had no symptoms at all but ended up doing a test and got 1-2 weeks on digital, I did have light spotting but tested a couple of days later and got 2-3 weeks. I rang epau as was concerned and they got me in the same day to have an ultrasound (too early to see anything) and HCG blood test, I ended up having 2 blood tests a week for 4/5 weeks as it took a while for my HCG level to reduce

Hi. Just wanted to say that it took me between 4-5 weeks after all bleeding stopped and miscarriage was complete to get a negative test.
I believe that residual pregnancy hormones can hang around for a long time.
It’s a confusing time, but I wish someone had told me this e we Jen it happened to me so I knew.

I experienced the same thing last month. I tested positive on a Friday, by Monday I was spotting which then turned into a lot of bleeding and then by Friday the bleeding stopped and I had a negative pregnancy test! It was too early to get a EPU referral by GP as I was literally 4 weeks so I kind of had to wait it out. It was a horrid experience and I was mentally exhausted! The only positive I took from that was that I knew I was able to get pregnant even though it didn't go the right way that time. Keep strong and surround yourself with loved ones 🥰

I'm sorry OP. I have had three losses myself and I know how scary it is when you start bleeding.
As others have said, a scan won't help you as it's too early to see anything. The only thing anyone might do is blood tests a couple of days apart, but they're more likely to tell you to give it a week and test again.
I'm sorry. I know that the waiting is horrific. Flowers

Thanks everyone. The bleeding has really slowed down now so just need to wait to test. Really tempted to now but I'm scared to see a positive so best to wait till Friday. I'm thankful it's happened now and not further on, I have a 2 year old daughter so I'm thankful for her too
