Discharge? Leaky waters? How can you tell?!

Hi everyone! hoping someone has some advice for me. I’m 34 weeks on Sunday coming and I’m very confused, without going into TOO much detail, I am wondering how you know when it’s just discharge or if it’s waters leaking or if it’s just urine that’s coming out of me! For the past few days I’ve had to wear liners or my knickers are soaked through after a few hours, before I wore liners I’d look at my knickers and they’d be obviously wet, no foul odour of any kind just constantly damp! Since wearing liners I’m soaking through maybe 2 or 3 a day but they’re fragranced so can’t tell you how they smell in any way. I have been having what feels like period cramps and if I wasn’t pregnant I’d be sure my period had started by the feelings I’m having but obviously not! Has anyone else had anything similar before and can shed some light? Dr google isn’t the most informative and I find when I call the midwives they’re very dismissive (although haven’t spoken to them about this in particular) sorry for the wordiness just trying to get my thoughts out in a way that makes sense!

first time soon to be mum and totally clueless!

It sounds like you're passing quite a lot of water so I would suggest that you ring the maternity ward as they can do a test to see if you waters have gone/started to go. It's really important you didn't his out because there's the risk of infection if your waters go and nothing is done!
I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but please ring them and be tested and then hopefully you can stop worrying!

If your soaking through pads and cramping I'd ring hospital and go and get checked out, they'll likely do a swab/speculum to rule it out. Leaky wee/discharge is likely and the amount does vary but if you are ever unsure its better to call as the risks are too high if you miss ruptured membranes.
When your waters do eventually go, you may not be sure then either, I was 40+6 with my first, felt some pressure and then a small leak but not much came out, so it isn't always a Hollywood gush x

@GeorgiaP88 I agree with the other two posters - ring / go to the hospital. Waters can leak rather than break and then an infection can set in & that isn't good. Better to go and ask than not would be my advice. I had a friend whose wife ignored this and the consequences were't good. So no panic necessary but I would insist on being seen. They can tell the difference between wee and amniotic fluid. I would phone and tell them exactly your symptoms.

All the very best to you . I had a little leak and DS is 25 and 6ft tall now. It can all be sorted out if you tell them.

My very very best to you and that is the best advice I can give you
