Static Growth scan

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with static growth. Measured 29 at my 28 weeks appointment but as I'd also measured the same 2 weeks prior at maternity unit midwife has booked me in for a growth scan on Monday.

Worrying myself a bit as it was a bit out of the blue so just looking for similar stories really.

Sorry not helpful but I'm in a similar position at the moment. Measured 27 at 28 weeks, had a growth scan and told baby was fine, average size.

Then 32 weeks still measured 27 with tape measure so had another growth scan. Not fully sure on what the scan said as sonographer said baby seemed OK to her. We didn't get to speak to the doctor but the admin lady said the doctor has asked for me to have another scan next Wednesday to measure the growth again.

The growth scans can be out by 10-15% each way, so even then they aren't 100%. I definitely wouldn't panic yet, I know lots of people who have growth scans but everything turns out fine. I had one with my son and he was fine for rest of pregnancy and once born.

If it's just measuring your bump (SFH) - they are less reliable when done by different people (e.g. measuring from very slightly different places) so there may not actually be any issues with growth. That's why they get you in for the scan, as it's more accurate (although as @OtiMama said, not 100%).

As hard as it is, try not to worry too much yet, as there may not be anything wrong - and if there is, at least you'll know and can be monitored safely

I had slow growth and then no growth for the last 4 weeks (in the middle of the 4 weeks one scan showed growth but the next showed the same as the 4 weeks prior)

I also measured small at midwife hence got the scans, had scans every 2 weeks for the last 2 months I think?

I ended up being induced and it was horrible but we were both fine, DD was born small, 2nd percentile but weight on after.

are you taking aspirin? I’ve been given it then and now with the 2nd yet again to help with it, my placenta doesn’t function very well.

ah the nurse who did the last scan (the one that showed no growth 36-40 weeks) said it looked ok to her but will talk to a consultant, the doctor called me that evening and said come for an induction the next day as he won’t assume the risk of waiting. I was 40 weeks already though and geriatric by medical standards (38).

no need to worry for you, get the scan and see if you can get some more scans after.
