Pain if i cough or sneeze 9 weeks

Hi, i am 9.5 weeks pregnant with my first. Last night I was lying in bed on my back and i coughed, and I had a excrutiating pain in my lower belly (near where my womb is) for about 30-45 seconds, and then it gradually went away within about 2-3 mins. It felt like it was in my womb, or around my womb.

Then last night as I was sleeping, I was again sleeping on my back and I sneezed in my sleep and got an excrutiating pain in my lower belly again, this time just on my left side of the womb. It was so bad i woke my husband up. This time it felt a bit like a strained muscle.

Both times i went to the toilet afterwards but no blood (thankfully). I've not had any bleeding since and the pain goes away after a few minutes.

Has anyone else had this and do you know what it might be?

TIA

It

I always had the same when I was pregnant. In fact it was one way of knowing for sure I was still pregnant whilst having some bleeding during my second pregnancy.!

I’m 10 weeks and have been getting the exact same for the past few weeks. Whenever I sneeze (particularly when lying down), I get a sharp pain low down. I’ve also had a bit of a virus/cold recently, and I’ve been tensing up as I cough which helps a bit.

I did a bit of googling and my understanding is that its ligament pain from everything growing/moving around down there. Would appear to be perfectly normal :)

Yes!! I had this and still do sometimes currently 17+4. It feels like a pulled muscle and is really painful and intense for roughly a minute then it eases off fairly quickly. I thinks it’s just our bodies stretching and growing, nothing to worry about xx

Probably round ligament pain. Very normal!

Yes I got this too around the same time, really bad pain when I sneezed or got up too quickly like I’d pulled something. I think it’s round ligament pain - I’m 16 weeks now and it happens far less often now.

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and experiencing exactly the same. It’s excruciating! Nothing compared to labour though haha it’s really nothing to worry about

It’s round ligament pain.
