Free dental treatment question

Not sure if I should have put this in a more general health section so please move if not in right place.

I am pregnant and I am entitled to free NHS dental treatment which is amazing, except I don't have a dentist and I live in London and there are no NHS dentist near me or if there are they aren't taking on anymore NHS patients. My question is if you are registered with a private dentist can you still get the treatment for free? Or can you only get the free treatment when pregnant if you are with an NHS dentist??

Only NHS treatment, so from an NHS dentist.

Sadly no, it's only NHS dentists.
I have to travel about an hour for my NHS dentist and I feel lucky as some people down (Cornwall) have been on wait lists for 5 years. I just got quite lucky I think and only waited a few months

That is what I thought. Looks like I will have to expand my search area, I wonder how far you can go outside your area??

You can travel wherever you like, not like with a GP surgery. Dentists don't usually have restrictions on where you live so it depends how far you want to travel
