Ectopic?

I'm currently 5 weeks today, the past couple of days I've had a dull ache on the left side low down, it comes and goes and it's not painful. When I walk around or move I can sometimes feel this dull ache as well. There's no bleeding and no cramping I thought it was probably constipation 🫣 but have been!

I'm now worried it could be an ectopic pregnancy 😭

I had this. All was fine. If it’s painful see your GP. Any shoulder pain, see your GP. Good luck xxx

My sister also had this about 2 weeks ago. I think its a sign the womb is growing. She had a miscarriage and IVF so was particularly anxious so went into hospital to check it out. Anyway there wasn't much they could do. her bloods were normal for pregnancy. She was scanned at week 6 and theres a sack and signs of fetal heartbeat so were quietly positive now.

I've also recently been getting aches on my left shoulder now, it comes and goes. I'm not sure if it's a result of stopping my anxiety medication, cause I've got no other symptoms of ectopic. Freaking out a bit!

We aren’t doctors. If you’re worried go to your local EPU or ring nhs.

Call your gp and get referred to your local EPU. At 5/6 weeks I had the same, a dull ache that would come and go. Mine was also accompanied by some brown spotting and then a little bleed after a bm (sorry tmi). I had an early scan and all was good, so hopefully it will be similar for you but always best to get it checked.

Obviously I know that, I am just looking for reassurance and if anyone else has had the same thing. There is no need to be rude.

It’s not rude. That’s my advice.

Hi Bec102 - Not the original poster here but i did add a comment that my sister had experienced the same. She described it as a pulling pain. Shes 8 months along now and looking forward to the baby. Ectopic pregnancy is very sudden and pain can escalate very quickly so listen to your body and get medical advice if in pain. Hope your OK

That’s so reassuring thank you so much xxx

Hi. I've had a normal pregnancy and an ectopic. I was worried that my first pregnancy was ectopic, because I had pain on and off low down on my left side. It was fine, normal stretching pains (just holding my 2 yo to help him sleep, he's coming down with something).
2nd pregnancy I had pain in a similar location - just hormones doing their thing I guess. But I also had pain in my back, my anus, and a burning sensation in my groin. I had dark spotting too. No shoulder pain for me, but I believe it's a very distinct kind of pain. The Dr said I'd definitely know if I had it. And you'd probably be bleeding a lot internally by the time it happened anyway and feeling really shit. Shoulder pain isn't really one of the first symptoms.
If you've had normal looking pregnancy tests (nice dark lines) and you don't have any spotting/you feel ok in yourself I wouldn't worry too much. I felt so grim and I was only bleeding a little bit internally, so if you were in trouble I think you'd definitely know about it. If you're anxious you could ask your GP for blood tests to show your HCG level is rising appropriately.
