Hi, I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place but I gave birth to a lovely baby girl on Monday morning. On Tuesday evening when at home the midwife mentioned she looked a bit jaundiced but it was quite normal. Yesterday another midwife came out and said she looked significantly jaundiced and to take her back to hospital to see what they said. Turns out she was really ill and her Billirubin levels were very high (480) which was in the area for an exchange transfusion. They're currently treating her in the special.baby unit with phototherapy and fluids etc. They're saying it's probably HDN as I'm rhesus negative and she is positive. I had the anti D injections in pregnancy so I don't understand how this has happened. Has anyone been through this? Her levels are currently on the way down but I'm so worried that it's too late to have stopped it damaging her brain. Thank you
