TMI is this mucus plug or not?

I'm 36+2 weeks in and for the last three days, once in the morning and occasional evening (two evenings-one occasion ) I've been to the toilet and found this on the tissue -
I've attached a photo of the blob.

Is this mucus plug or just normal discharge you'd get as it looks brown (old blood). I have no other signs or symptoms.

My last pregnancy I was overdue by 41+2 and I remember having fresh red blood in the mucus plug and pregnancy didn't start for 2 weeks, I never dilated enough(5cm max) that it was eventually called to do EMCS. This time I'm planning on a elective C section.

Any advice?
I have midwife appointment tomorrow and next antenatal appoint in 2 weeks time when I'll be 38+1.

Looks like a bit of the plug, not the whole thing though. Good that it's starting to shed a bit, your bodies starting to get ready!

Oh sorry just realised you're in for a section. I wouldn't worry, unless the whole thing comes away maybe give the midwives a ring then.

Yep that's it! My 2nd labour started the same day as I lost it. So do be prepared.

Looks like it to me. Mine looked exactly like that except I had a bit more

I've been having this for last three days.. But no other symptoms like back pain, cramps or so.
Baby moving alot (when I sit still or at night when I sleep as I'm very active and don't sit down much) but that's been the case for a while. He's quite active. More than my first who didn't move much.
Just hoping to reach 37 weeks on Tuesday and then whenever labour wants to start.
Was planning on C section at week 39 but don't know what's going to happen now. 😊

Hope all goes well for you OP. It’s great to hear that baby is active ☺️

Saw the midwife today. She didn't appear concerned and said it's common. Not to worry unless there is fresh blood or start of contractions, in which case to call triage at my hospital.
It's just a way of the body slowly preparing for labour.
Had more, twice today, massive brown-clear discharge blobs. But so far no other symptoms.

Sorry for disgusting picture lol. 40+3 today and had this with continuous less amounts of brown mucus also coming out. Had a sweep 2 days ago and got a bishops score of 6. I’ve had lower back pain and period like cramps that are irregular. is this the bloody show or does it need to be red?? How long after did you guys go into labour xx
