I’m just over 6 weeks pregnant and have the worst sore throat and low grade fever. Has this happened to anyone else I haven’t taken paracetamol yet I’m too worried to take it. It feels like a throat infection I’m worried this will effect my pregnancy

Hi OP. Take the paracetamol, you can take as advised on the packet.

I had a nasty throat infection when I was 23 weeks pregnant while also having covid. The doctor wasn't keen to give me antibiotics due to me being pregnant, although it's likely worth a call if it's super painful etc.

Hope you feel better soon.

You can absolutely take paracetamol.
Maybe worth checking it's not bacterial.

I was really poorly with something called strep throat and it needed antibiotics

@MsMariie fever is more risky in pregnancy than taking the correct dose of paracetamol. A GP told me this when I had an infection when pregnant.
