Bump! - I'm going out in a bit, want to find out before I go!

It's quite nice - Holland and Barratt tends to be the cheapest. The tea is cheaper than the tablets - about £2 a box. It's an acquired taste, you either like it or you don't. The tablets gave me awful heartburn for some reason but lots of people prefer them if you loathe the taste of the tea.

I bought the loose stuff, and a tea ball- I would make it quite strong (i used to wait for it to cool, then gulp it)

And have a few cups a day.

Good Luck, and happy wishes for a wonderful delivery.

Thanks whomoved & purpleduck - don't mind what it tastes like, didn't know you could buy it loose? If I can get some I will use that. I take it that it can help at this late stage then? Oooh I'm getting all excited about the birth now! I know the stuff doesn't actually start it off but is supposed to make it quicker, it's just nice to do something about it rather than just sit around waiting for labour to start!

It is full of minerals that feed your muscles help them do their job

You can prob get loose stuff in a [ahem] better health food store than h&b

scaryhairycat · 25/01/2008 15:57

Yes, just come back from h&b and got some teabags as they didn't have any loose. In fact I am slurping some now and it's suprisingly nice! I was expecting it to be disgusting as so many ladies complain about having to drink it!

scary - how exciting for you!!!! in the last days before dd was born - i was at the stuff none stop. i drank the tea, i drank it cold with ice instead of water - i even brewed it very very strtong and added sparkling water for a change! i dont know if it worked or not but i had a very quick 2nd stage - as did other RLeaf tea drinkers!

good luck, you will be absoltuely fine, enjoy it all and i cant wait to see your birth story!

scaryhairycat · 25/01/2008 16:14

Thanks weeonion! I have heard of lots of women who had a fast second stage (they believe) as a result of rl tea. Thanks for the tips on different ways to drink it too!

Ive heard that the capsules are far far better than the tea, apparently you'd have to drink ALOT of it to make a difference. No idea how true this is though!! Im 34 weeks and am taking the capsules, 3 a day at the mo which I will increase at 38 weeks if I get there!!

Good luck xxx
